The Sims 3 Release Date Might Delay, Six New Retro Artworks
Many people are getting worried about when will the game actually come out. The buzz started after SnootySims posted a message saying that the official release date for The Sims 3 has removed from the official EA UK Store. This point is actually not true.
From SnootySims:
- The official releasedate is removed from both the official Sims 3 site and several EA sites (EA UK). Not true. The release date on EA UK is set to February 20th, 2009.
- There is still no official cover for the game despite it should almost go to the presses.
- Someone from the BBS who pre-ordered got a releasedate of June 18! Sims BBS
- French Amazon give a releasedate of February 26 (though a delay of just a week is not unusual considering shipping times).
- Many Australian stores give a releasedate of March 26: DStore
What worries me the most is the message from Sims BBS. June 18th? You must be joking me. This must be a mistake. But looking at the bright side, I see a few good reasons why the game should be delayed. It could be bug-free (well, not entirely, but hopefully it could help), more people would have time to finish their The Sims 2 games, or just as it is in my case, get a new computer and then play The Sims 3.
What do you think – are the rumors true or not? If yes, are you angry or do you take it easy? Well, I was getting pretty hooked lately, but honestly, I wouldn’t mind. I have some exams ahead of me and mixing them with The Sims 3 may not end up good. 
However, the artworks look lovely. I love everything retro and this looks so cool! Especially the living room chair – I’ve always wanted them to look like that in The Sims 2.

I was just on Wikipedia and it has on it that the Sims 3 is not coming out until Feb. 21 2010…..( Almost sounds like someone is messing with us.) Yesterday when I went into EB games they said it was not coming out until August….. I dont know who to believe anymore.

I don’t think you’ve checked it right, Angela. The release date on Wikipedia says Feb. 20 2009, not 2010. However it’s weird what they told you in that story. I hope there will be an official announcement soon.

Oh I always thought that there would be a delay, for me it’s ok, I am not waiting the game, sorry for those who are already fan of the game even when they have never played it XD But Hannah you are right, If there was a delay I have more time to get a new PC *evil laugh*

The thing you must remember is that EA gave feb. 2004 as the date that the sims 2 would be released. It seems to me they delayed it a couple of times before releasing it in sept. 2004. When I heard the Sims 3 would be released this Feb. I did not take it too seriously.

The american amazon.com site states a release for Feb. 16, 2009. That seems more likely because since when do they release games on a Friday?

Haha, yeah, I was actually wondering how it is possible that only a month before the release they were still making sounds and voices for the game. Isn’t it weird? Not that I ever studied how games were made, but… it’s still a bit strange. Also, the creators at the Creator’s Camp said they had to keep some information secret. I don’t mean to put even more rumors into this, but who knows what could that be…
