Spring4Sims – The Best Finds, Downloads & Hints for Your Sims

Finally, I managed to fix my game (well, I’m in the middle of the process)! Like I said a few days ago, it’s started going very slow and even crash. That’s never happened to me before. And you perhaps don’t know what slow means. When at the max speed, one minute in the game took about 6 seconds to pass in real life. That’s really hell slow!

The strange thing was that it was only happening in Live Mode. I thought that maybe because I installed Ambitions it’s not working well. So I was slowly messing around with my custom content, compressing it but nothing seemed to help. I set the preferences to lowest. Note that they were always on the highest and the game worked well. Even that didn’t help.

So what was causing all that trouble? One tiny little bug. Or a huge one I guess. It seems like Holly Alto got on the top of the Architectual career and has received an honor from the City Hall. This has caused to call about ¾ of the town in front of the City Hall and celebrate with tons of confetti and baloons. The trouble was they didn’t want to stop! They would go on and on forever celebrating like crazy. Soon they were getting partied out, exhausted and starved. But something was preventing them to party like Lindsay Lohan. (Sorry, Lindsay.)

I had to visit every household, uncheck the celebrating, get the Sims home and save them from meeting with Grim Reaper. I still have to do this with many households, but it will take only a few minutes. After I managed to send a few Sims home, the game was finally getting quicker and smoother. Yay! I figured it out! Now I think I’m the one who deserves a medal, not Holly Alto.
