I’m a hardcore the Sims fan, I’m sure you know that. But I’m sure you also know that I’m always quite skeptical about the Sims games which are neither “original”, nor for PC/Mac. The trouble is that whatever console they make them for, they always come out worse than the original games. The gameplay just lacks all kinds of stuff and I also never have enough time to play that many games, so for me, they’re usually out of question. (I think I only liked The Sims Animals, because it looks cute… but it’s for Wii which I don’t have.)
Seems like everybody is talking about The Sims Medieval these days. Oh yes, my skepticism comes back again, but when I saw the trailer yesterday, I might have changed my mind. I still haven’t read too much about the gameplay, but so far it seems quite good to me. I like the original the Sims engine, the games seems witty and funny and most importantly: they’re not trying to create a worse version of the Sims, because it’s a completely new game… or so I think it is. So far I really like the concept of medieval ages (after all, Age of Empires II is one of my all time favorites).
What are your thoughts on The Sims Medieval? Are you getting it or skipping it? The game comes out March 22nd.
