I Realized I Miss Pets Really Bad

This is particularly funny: in The Sims 1, pets were really cute, but Maxis managed to make the Old Town overcrowded with them. All you had to do was shoo them all over again and they would still come back and make more mess. But overally, they were fun.

In The Sims 2, pets were great, because you could customize them. I made quite a few versions of my cat Caesar, what a great fun. The only problem with the expansion pack was that it didn’t add too much new stuff for the game. It was like: here’s a cat, here’s a dog. Should be enough. Confident?

But now I realized I really miss pets. Can you imagine how much more alive would the towns in TS3 be if we had pets? There would be countless options: you could walk your dog or go jogging with it, there would be contests in the parks, maybe you could gift them to other Sims, but most of all, the towns would look more fun, real, cute and definitely more alive.

I’m sure there will be an EP with new pets. It was one of the best EPs for TS1 and TS2, so we can pretty much expect them in TS3, too. What do you expect from it?

Babies in TS3 Are Not ‘Random’ Anymore UPDT

In case you were wondering, I’ve noticed one thing.

In The Sims 2, when your female Sim got pregnant, it wasn’t sure for 100% percent what sex will the baby have. When the birth came, the game would choose the sex of the baby right that moment. So that means you could play with your Sim and when the birth came, you could have either a babygirl or a babyboy–and if you didn’t like the sex of the baby, you could just load your saved game, wait till the birth came again and see whether it’s going to be a girl or a boy. And try it like this until you weren’t confident with the sex of the baby.

In The Sims 3, things have changed: when your female Sim gets pregnant, the sex of the baby is chosen right that moment. When you get her into the hospital (or give the birth at home), the sex of the baby will always be the same. So if you save your game while your Sim is already pregnant, the sex of the baby will remain.

I noticed this because I’m always very particual about my babygirls and babyboys in the game. I’m trying to have Morgana Wolff a babyboy, but no luck so far. She’s already had like four babygirls but still no babyboy. And she can’t have that many kids! Lol. So I deleted them. Poor babies, I know. It’s a genocide. :( But she also wants a babyboy really bad, so what else am I supposed to do rather than try?

Oh and now let’s try it again! *crosses her fingers*

UPDATED: So, first of all thanks for your suggestions! I googled the pregnancy and fruits and found out what you were saying: if Sims eat apples, they will have boys, if they eat watermeloon, they will have girls.

But I was still partly right: the sex of the baby is chosen right after your femlales get pregnant. But then it depends on what kind of fruit your females eat. Morgana didn’t eat at all (because I cheat and modify her motives), so she was just ‘unlucky’ to have all those girls. But from now on, she’s going to eat apples through her pregnacy.

Oh and one more thing: if your game is updated with patch 1.3 the affect of fruits will no longer have affect in meals (like pancakes). That means your Sims will have to eat raw fruits to have either a babygirl or a babyboy. Hope that helps. :)

Morgana Wolff’s Marriage in Trouble

I’ve had this little story in my head for a while. Well, it’s not a real story, but just a few of my thoughts on how Morgana Wolff’s life looks like. I think I have a crush on her. Yeah, I always knew I was sort of bisexual at some point, haha. But seriously, could she just be the new Bella Goth? I think so. She’s really pretty, she’s full of grace and charm. There’s definitely something about her, don’t you think?

I’m not a storywriter, but let me know what you think. Oh and the bedroom looks terrible. For some reason, the wall unintentionally matches Thornton’s suit. Eww. I’ll have to redecorate…

Morgana’s life was pretty much perfect. She was stunning, she had the perfect husband, house, car and the career. And she also had what she loved the most: a beautiful child, another on the way and enough money for what she loved the most — art.

Photo of the Day: Almost Real Camel!

For a second, I thought it was real… it looks nice, though, doesn’t it? :)

Partners, Business, Vacation & Lost Traits

I’m in a need for few answers that some of you might know. I’m playing for the Wollfs now and Thornton is in the business career. I made him to become a partner of the business building in the center of Sunset Valley. The thing is I’ve never figured out one thing: how do a Sim who is already a partner of some building make other Sims to become partners? (Duh, I can’t explain what I mean clearly, I hope you know what I mean.) Even when the game is loading there is a tip saying that Sims can earn more money if they find new partners (but they should chose wisely, because some like to slack.) So, any ideas?

Another thing that’s bothering me is that I have no idea how to invite friends to come  to a trip with my Sims. When I use the phone, I can always just take other family members with me, but no friends. At first I thought they needed to be best friends or good friends, but it doesn’t seem to work, either. This option was in TS2 and I think even in TS1, so I suppose I’m looking at the wrong place or something.

Oh and I wanted to ask you about traits for Sims in the Sunset Valley since they lost them when I updated the game with one of the latest patches (and it’s so annoying! Sims with no traits, it makes no sense…). I found a site where all Sims in Sunset Valley are listed, so now I can add their traits with cheats again. It’s going to take a while, but it’s better than nothing… Just in case you were interested. :)

Who Would Be Your Valentine Date?

Happy Valentine’s Day, guys! I hope you’re having a swell time with somebody who you truly love, your family, boyfriend/girlfriend, pet or Sims. :D

I just want to ask you a quick fun question: if you could choose and in-game Sim and have a date with him/her, who would it be?

You know how’s mine fantasy date, right? Yes, I fell in love with Gilbert a long time ago. But nah, he wouldn’t be my date this time. (I mean, I dated him so many times in my mind before that it’s not special anymore.) I was having this crazy thought about Mortimer Goth. Because he’s just so… Goth. Classic. Rational. Gracaful. Educated.

Adventurous Gilbert Explores the Chateau of Laangrabs, Plans to Visit Egypt

Yes, I have a crush. But who could not love Gilbert Jacquet? Ahh.

Oh well, I went to France with Gilbert again. I’m trying to complete as many adventures as possible to gain higher visa level. He’s level 2 now, which I think should allow him to buy a house in France. Not sure, though, because I had to leave and I hadn’t had much time to find out.

But I accepted a few great challenges. There was the case about Jean Nectaux who invented the Nectar centures ago. Interesting. (I love Sims history and I know I’m crazy, thankyou.) And than there was one of the Laangrabs who had some awesome ideas about the Nectar and I had to find his notes. This was interesting, because I had to cheat to find it — who knew teleporting could be that useful?

I took a lot of pictures inside the Laangrab’s old Chateau. I have to say it looks a bit scary inside. An old, deserted chateau. Just ake a look at the pictures and you’ll see what I mean.

Gilbert Jacquet & Broken Parts

The patch seems to be working fine. *phew* The only thing I found it would make broken is the kitchen sink. It sort of splits the water in two parts. Well, you can’t get everything too perfect, right?

But guess who’s the lovely boy in the green shirt? Yay, my beloved Gilbert!
