Back to Work Again!

Hey guys, the last week and so of no updates was not necessarily planned. Well, I’ve decided to take some holiday last Thoursday and take a few days off, but some really unpretty flu/whatever struck me and instead of having fun, I had to lie in the bed for a week. Luckily, it seems to be gone. :) I’ll have to take things easily for a while but that didn’t stop me from doing some finds for this week. Hope you’ll enjoy! Stay tuned for awesome finds, eat fruits and stay healthy! ;)

Mailbox Cleaned, Site Links Updated

Just letting you know I’ve just browsed all emails in my mailbox and updated links I’ve collected either from you or from what I’ve found. So, The List of The Sims 2 Sites and List of The Sims 3 Sites are both updated now. If you don’t see your site there, leave me a comment and I will add a link to your site! Also, please note I didn’t reply any of the emails because there’s been too many of them and I was already too late to read them… yes, I need to check that mailbox more frequently. Sorry! :)

Strawberry Mousse Closing

Here comes another site that’s going to be inactive, how sad. Mimi owner has just lost all her files and doesn’t feel like playing anymore at all.

I think this happened to many people already and there were some that managed to get back. We’ll see if this will be the case, I really hope so.

My Mods Folder Is Now Organized, But My Game Keeps Lagging & Crashing

Thanks a lot for your feedback, guys! It’s really helped me to decide how to organize my downloads. In the end, I’ve decided to organize by the type of custom content. I try to avoid having too many folders as I don’t like browsing custom content through so many sub-folders. I kept the original folder organized by artists, though. Maybe I change my mind later, who knows, but hopefully this will work well for me.

I also packed the .sims3package files with Sims 3 Package Editor. It has reduced the size to half, which is really cool. Now I only have abou 350 MB of downloads and the loading is a little faster. My game keeps lagging a lot, though. My computer isn’t the fastest, it also seems I have some sort of malware that keeps my CPU busy. I’m planning to re-install Windows and all my games again, even though I really hate to. The game even crashed once when there was a strike in front of the City Hall–too many Sims on one place is a bad thing for my game right now. When I’m in the Build or Buy Mode, it runs very smooth. Too bad I forgot to save my game. Grrr. I was just playing for Agyness Crumplebottom and reconstructed her house. I can start from the scratch now. But it’s not that bad, I’m sure I’ll get everything done again pretty fast.

My question is: What did you do last time you played the game? :)

Organizing My Mods Folder: Sort by Artists or Type of Custom Content?

I’m having a huge dilemma right now. I know many people organize their Downloads/Mods folder by the type of custom content. Such as The Body Shop, Buy Mode, Build Mode, Hacks, etc. I’ve recently wrote a post where I explained I prefer sorting by artists. BUT right now I’m rethinking this. I only have 11 folders with 11 different artists, and yet I think that’s too many (and I have a folder for ‘miscellaneous’ artists already, too). Damn it! I can’t even make a real decision about folders these days… didn’t I say my brain was melting? Yeah, anyways, please, let me know how you sort your folders and what you think is better! I’ll appreciate that so much!

BRB, My Brain Is Melting Like an Ice-Cream

Sorry for the lack of updates last few days, guys. It’s been so hot in here and I barely can sit behind my computer to work all day, because it produces even more warmth and it doesn’t help at all that my room is in the mansard roof and tends to be the hottest in the whole house…

I haven’t really been playing The Sims 3 for the last couple of weeks, perhaps because I was all excited about the new games I’ve just got: Tropico 3 and Tropico 3 Absolute Power (an expansion pack). The game is really great and so much fun, if you like strategies, definitely go check it out. I really like the idea of being a dictator of a banana island, making good and bad or even selfish decisions for my small island. The game makes fun of USA and USSR in the Cold War and I have to say I enjoy it quite a lot since I come from a post-communistic country. Enough said, just make sure you take a look if you don’t know the game at all! :)

But don’t think I’ve been neglecting my game that much! I’ve been downloading new stuff, organizing my Mods folder and pretty much deleting stuff I had but wasn’t really happy with in the game. It’s quite time-consuming I have to say. Apart from that, I finally received the The Sims 3 Amitions Prima Game Guide and it’s so helpful! I’m slowly digging through it and figuring some stuff before playing as I’ve found out sometimes it works for me much better this way. I don’t have all the time I used to have to try everything at once, so this way I choose the things I want to try the first and then pay attention to other stuff.

Also, I’ve been thinking about doing a small challege for you all. Do you have your room decorated with any Sims-themed objects? Or do you have your collection of the games nicely displayed on your shelves to show them proudly off? I thought it might be fun to see each other’s room with some odds and ends from The Sims. I have recently put a big poster of Sunset Valley on my wall and there’s a Plumbob USB hanging right down from my lamp… and of course, the games are lying around my desk with the guides. So would you be interested in showing your pictures? I though I could post them here at Spring4Sims and turn them into a show case. I just need to know if anyone would be willing to participate.

So yeah, that’s all for now. See you tomorrow (actually today–it’s 0:30 AM already) with new updates! Sim well and drink a lot of water. Oh and those of you in Australia having winter, enjoy it–it’s much better than this heat, trust me!

TS3 Interior Design Inspiration: Mackat’s French Cottage

Mackat was challenged to decorate a house in shabby chic style. What a perfect idea to try it in France! She did a great job, make sure you check out the rest of the house.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July, guys! No, I’m not celebrating with you as I’m not American, but reading so many American-based blogs about various things makes me excited for you. It seems like so many preparations go for this day. If you’re celebrating, leave me a comment how, I’m always very curious about foreign customs. :)

Just in case you haven’t seen the latest Beatdoc’s creation, take a look now. The girl can pick hell of a good colors and textures for everything. It’s really great for those of us who need some inspiration. :)

BTW any idea where are the giraffes and the purple drink from? Thanks!
