Here comes another site that’s going to be inactive, how sad. Mimi owner has just lost all her files and doesn’t feel like playing anymore at all.

I think this happened to many people already and there were some that managed to get back. We’ll see if this will be the case, I really hope so.

My Mods Folder Is Now Organized, But My Game Keeps Lagging & Crashing

Thanks a lot for your feedback, guys! It’s really helped me to decide how to organize my downloads. In the end, I’ve decided to organize by the type of custom content. I try to avoid having too many folders as I don’t like browsing custom content through so many sub-folders. I kept the original folder organized by artists, though. Maybe I change my mind later, who knows, but hopefully this will work well for me.

I also packed the .sims3package files with Sims 3 Package Editor. It has reduced the size to half, which is really cool. Now I only have abou 350 MB of downloads and the loading is a little faster. My game keeps lagging a lot, though. My computer isn’t the fastest, it also seems I have some sort of malware that keeps my CPU busy. I’m planning to re-install Windows and all my games again, even though I really hate to. The game even crashed once when there was a strike in front of the City Hall–too many Sims on one place is a bad thing for my game right now. When I’m in the Build or Buy Mode, it runs very smooth. Too bad I forgot to save my game. Grrr. I was just playing for Agyness Crumplebottom and reconstructed her house. I can start from the scratch now. But it’s not that bad, I’m sure I’ll get everything done again pretty fast.

My question is: What did you do last time you played the game?

Here we go! Like we havn’t really had too much drama in the community already, right? The Sims Resource strikes again, contacts GoDaddy, which is the host of GOS and takes the site down. Because they are “redistributing copyrighted content”.

I’m not a hater of TSR although I don’t usually download CC from there but this is ridiculous. A big “company” like this should know that making other people angry won’t help their renown. Well, TSR never learns. Too bad for them, too bad.

Yes, once again I’m being lazy (and tired). I couldn’t really decide on what to post today, so I’ve decided to post only this. Do you know Sims2Code? It’s an old site that’s been inactive for a very long time (see the counter saying “The Sims 3 is coming in 322 days and 6 hours ago” — it still hasn’t been removed even after almost a year).

Anyways, I used to love this site. I think I had pretty much everything I could download and it was all worth it. I’m so sorry to see it all dusted and rusty. I know the creator was also at The Sims Resource under the nickname NoFrills. Well, it seems like she’s a retired artist. Too bad, I used to love her creations.

Hopefully you still haven’t heard of it and you’ll go on the download spree. It seems like the download links are still working, so I’d hurry up if I were you.

Just as always, this is another great issue worth your attention! I enjoyed article about photographing, stripes, I found a great new site BYHSD. And I truly love this garden house. Oh, and let’s not forget about some nice storage. And a great interview with Malle. (There’s a special gift, too, don’t miss it!)

Now I feel like I need to book one whole day for downloading new stuff. Yeah, that happens to me a lot.

BTW I’ve been redecorating the house of the Wollfs, I hope to finish it sometimes soon and post some pictures. I think I’m still far from being done with that huge house, but so far I like it. It’s big and modern, but somehow I managed to keep it cozy… But this is definitely what the house lacks. *sigh*

Lady Gaga Bad Romance Video in The Sims 2

I have already mentioned one Alexandre’s video here at S4S, now he’s asked me to mention his latest creation: Bad Romance music video made in The Sims 2. As I’ve already said, I’m not a huge fan of Lady Gaga, but I have to admit that Bad Romance has really grown on me.

After two months or more work on this is my video of Bad Romance. Each scene is thought to detail closely. I’m really proud of this video. I made accessories, objects, poses and more.

Now look at the The Sims 2 version, it’s really fantastic!

Another great issue of Living Sims is out and it tells you about combining colors of red, green, yellow for your houses, new custom content ideas, it has some great tips for TS3 players and much more! I also enjoyed article about furnishing a bedroom for twins and decorating in French style. There’s also a small gift for TS2 players on page 66 (or 130).

This is a truly inspiring issue for me and it makes me want to play the game right away! Can’t wait for the next one.

This is seriously crazy. As much as I’m not a fan of Lady GaGa (gosh, am I really writing about her right now?), I have to admit this video is perfect — at least for the reason that it’s made in The Sims 2.

It’s really epic. I can’t imagine how much work it had to take to make a video like this in The Sims 2. From the costumes to chracters, sets, poses… wow!

My favorite article is definitely the interview with Numenor, everyone should read that one if you feel like a real Simmer. Otherwise you can find there a tutorial about making TS3 patterns and as usal, tons of inspiratioinal photos for decorating in TS2 and TS3

I’ve been playing The Sims 2 past few days a little and now I see how much I miss the great graphics of The Sims 3. And most of all, the new Create-a-Style tool, which lets you create incredible designs.

If you’re out of inspiration and ideas, I highly suggest visiting Pink Rabbit. Nice patterns, mixed styles and useful interior design. I really love this site for this kind of pictures. Gives a whole new perspective on your creativity!

Adele’s Undead Episode 3 Now Available!

This is really good news to share with you: Adele has posted a new episode of Undead. One of the voice actors is “out of the game”, so Adele now makes voice for two characters, but I believe it doesn’t change anything at all. The second episode ended with a twist, so I’m looking forward to see what’s happening next.

But I’m sure it will wait till tomorrow, because I barely keep my eyes open as I’m writing this. I thought that first week of university would be the worse, but now I think it’s the second one, lol. But I’m sure you’ve already felt this way.

Wicked Nouk Family Needs Your Help

Maybe you’ve noticed that WNF sites has been down couple of weeks ago. They were having some troubles with their servers and hosting, which never makes anyone happy. The transfer is done, but some more help never hurts, right?

I’d like to draw some of your attention to WNF, because they’ve made a long way hosting various Sims sites and providing really nice free content for the whole community. I think they all deserve our big thankyou and not only for hosting new sites with new content, but also for hosting Sims2Graveyard, where you can find pretty much of all content from dead and closed The Sims 2 sites.

Nothing is truly for free, though. Their fees for hosting are much lower now, but bills always need to get paid. If you think that you could donate, then please do. It doesn’t have to be a big sum of money, because you know that every little bit counts.

Adele’s Back & Brings New Set of Floors

You may have noticed that Wicked Nouk Family has been down for a while. But this was just one of the many reasons why Adele has opened her new site – AdeleVK. All her custom content should be there, even sets featured at MTS. Yay, are you as happy for her as I am? Sure you are.

What’s more, she brings a new set of floor tiles called SIBILLA TILE SET. And this might not be really fresh (in fact, I don’t know), but her TS2 movie Undead now has been updated with the second part. I still haven’t had time to watch it, but I’m sure it’s a blast!

You might have noticed that Cool Sims is havnig problems with their hosting at the moment. Antonio is a great mesher and he creates one of the most perfect hairstyles in the community (if not the most perfect, that is) and his creations have always been free.

70 Subscribers & SimGuy’s Back!

First of all, I have great news that one of our favorite sites — SimGuys — is back. I’m so happy for Dave, I know he had hard time putting everything together after his host expired. The downloads are not up yet, but should be soon.

Another great news is that now I have 70 subscribers. I really thought that there would be many people unsubscribing after The Sims 3 was released (and a few unsubscribed, that’s true), but I see that there are still people interested in playing the game. Thank’s for your support!

The Sims 3 Walkthrough at Carl’s Guide

If you’re looking for a free guide that would tell you something more about your Sims’ lifetime wishes, careers and skills, I think you’ll find Carl’s Sims 3 Walkthrough / Strategy Guide very useful.

We all know that there’s no real walkthrough for games like The Sims 3, but good hints and tips are always very useful. For example, I found article about making money by selling paintings quite interesting and I hope I’ll find a Sim in my ‘hood who likes to paint soon, so I can try it out.

Another thing that caught my eye is this post about gardening, because I still haven’t figured out everything yet. Gardening is a little different in The Sims 3 than in The Sims 2.

Of course, you might find something more useful on Carl’s Guides. And in case you didn’t find what you were looking for, I suggest you to bookmark this site — as far as I know, more articles are coming soon.

Hope you’re having a blast weekend. I’ve just come home from jogging (the picture of myself Sim who put on some weight seemed like a challege to me) and feel just right for the bed after the 4 kilometers I ran today. It’s so hot outside!

If the weather doesn’t change, maybe I should just stock with tons of ice-cream and play Sims. Hmm, sounds like a good idea. Good night/morning/afternoon/whatever and see you tomorrow, guys!

Living Sims Issue 10 Out!

It has been some time since I last posted some news about some nice Sims magazine. Well, here we come, Simmers!

Living Sims brings the 10th issue of their interior magazine. A lot hasn’t changed since I last visited the sites of Living Sims: the mag is still superb and not only in design, but also in tips it offers.

The best part are the pictures that lead you straight to the downloads. Well, I think I’ve found my favorite piece of clutter there – some cute WooHoo cups. Enjoy and find your favorites, too! And if you want, post them in the comments, I’m curious what you guys like.

I’m sure that some of you have noticed that Dave’s site SimGuys has been down for some time. It’s due to his hosting problems, or better said – hosting costs.

Although he didn’t ask me for this (I think he’ll be a bit surprised that I’m doing this), I’d like to ask you to consider donating to his site. He offers a lot of free high-quality downloads and it’s a pity that they’re all down. As much as I know, he hasn’t decided yet, but might offer some The Sims 3 downloads, too, if he’ll get the game.

So please, if you have a few dollars to spare, think about SimGuys. I’m sure Dave will be glad to come back!

Poison Pink Lemons Closed

Honestly, I think this was pretty much expected. PPL hasn’t updated for a long time and sadly, the site is now closed. Their files are now available at Sims2Graveyard. I used to love PPL and I remember when their early beginnings at Simply Elau. Anyone remembers Simply Elau? Oh, that used to be such a lovely site! I had a lot of downloads from there, too. Well, it was great having you, PPL!

This is such a sad thing to hear. First Nouk, now Elena from inBeatz. I hope she’ll be doing fine and maybe play the game from time to time.

I really have neither time nor interest to continue the sims stuff. It has been a wonderful time with all of you, I’ve learned something, I’ve met new friends and had a lot of fun. But I need to go on now.

The site will be closed in a few days, so please download everything you like as there will be no possibility to do that in future. Some files will be transfered to justsims2.ru in the nearest future.

Oh no, this can’t be true! Noukiesims is closed, what a shame. I wasn’t registered at the site, just used to check it for Nouk’s hairs to make finds, but still it’s a shame that the site is gone. I hope that Nouk won’t stop creating though – maybe she will post her new hairs at MTS2 (?). But I don’t think it’s very probable, because the files will be moved to The Sims Graveyard. Well, it was great having you, Noukiesims. You will be missed by many!

Sims Connection

I’ve been wondering for some time what’s up with Sims Connection. It’s been so long since the last update and the site looks literally frozen. The last rumors I’ve heard about the site were like a year ago (or maybe even more?) regarding the creator has been taking up some 3D courses to get better at meshing.

Ever since that, no idea what’s been happing. I remember they used to have some very popular sets for community lots and shops. I just hope they’re not really dead but on hiatus or something. Please, give me a shout if you have some more information.

Nontained Using {Nonsensica}’s Layout?

I have been informed by Omer and Rida, the creators from {Nonsensica}, that a site called {Nontained} has been using the same site layout as their site. Well, by the time I’m writing this, it’s changed, but I’ve seen it a few days ago and the layout looked really the same as {Nonsensica}’s. Also, their name is very similar to {Nonsensica} and they were using braces in the name, too.

Honestly, I really don’t like when somebody else’s work is being used without giving credits, because it’s not only a proof of laziness, but also a disrespect of somebody’s creativity.

From what I’ve been told and is now written at Nontained, it seems like this is (hopefully) just a misunderstanding. The creator at Nontained is now working on a new layout and has told the creators at {Nonsensica} that s/he didn’t even know their site has existed and that s/he’s been has been using the same layout, because it was made by his/her friend.

The truth might be somewhere in between, but it’s really hard to say whether the creator knew about using their site layout.

Does anybody know how long has this been going on? I’ve never heard of that site before. Please, share your thoughts if you have any information. I’d really like to hear anything from you.
