You have to find a vampire in the world, befriend it, and then ask it to turn you into a vampire. You can then turn other Sims into vampires. Late Night also includes a new Blood Line system, which will let you pass your vampirism onto your offspring. So if a vampire and a vampire mate, it will for sure be a vampire baby. But if a vampire and a non-vampire mate, it might be a vampire or it might be a Sim. There’s no half-vampire, half-Sim babies.

And what will you feed on once you’ve become a creature of the night? They quench their thirst by eating plasma packs, drinking plasma from other Sims, or growing rare and awesome plasma fruits.

Thank you guys for letting me know about the new rumors! There’s still no official word from EA Games, but it seems the new expansion pack for The Sims 3 is going to be named After Dark. The title really makes me think of good ol’ Nightlife (although now I think about it, it was my second least favorite expansion pack after University). Perhaps it could be about… uhm nightlife or maybe even some supernatural creatures? Let me guess: vampires! ZOMG!

Yes, I want vamps so bad. The whole world is crazy about them right now, I believe EA Games could embrace this fact as well and take it as a good marketing trick. Which makes me think about the whole rumor thing–was there even a single rumor that was proven false later? I can’t think of any. I think they’re releasing these hoaxes on purpose so people would talk about the new EPs more. Whatever the case, I was crossing my fingers for pets. Well, maybe next time. Meanwhile let me get excited about vampires!

Have you seen these already? Oh gosh, I love these artworks! I’ve never been too much into cars, but I always think about which car to buy to my Sims, because they can reflect their personalities so perfectly. The new pin-up theme and glamurous 50’s seem like a good idea to me. I’m definitelly getting this stuff pack, although probably not right off. Perhaps when new expansion pack will come out, which I think will be close before Christmas this year.

BTW any thoughts of what the next EP might be? I cross my fingers for pets. Seriously, I’ve never missed them that much in the previous games, now my ‘hoods look so empty without them.

I found out the best solution for getting promoted soon in your Profession is to work on your skillpoints first. Meanwhile, I tried to do some small reconstuctions around the town, but so far no major luck. I always wonder how are the final results evaluated.

When I buy only the stuff I’m supposted to and I keep it up to the budget, I usually don’t get too good reviews. But when I play around the house, change textures, buy more expensive furniture and simply renovate the whole house, the customers tell me I cluttered the house and they don’t like it. Sometimes when I use decor objects, they tell me how nicely I decorated their rooms.

This is the most confusing Profession, isn’t it? What works for you best? I still don’t have that Prima Game Guide, I think I’m going to need it a lot, though…

Duh, there we go. I can’t save the game. It says I should take a look at the readme file, but it doesn’t explain anything further than what I already know. It’s an error that occurrs while saving, how helpful.

Installed them and everything looks fine so far. I noticed some differences in windows and how they reflect lights, the reflextions now look much stronger now. And I’m not sure if this bug is really fixed, but my Sims had a tendecy to ‘Wait outside’ when they had nothing in their to-do queue (it was listed just like any other activity). It seems to be gone now. *crosses her fingers*

Some new changes I appreciate:

• Sims may now walk and stand on bridges. Yay! I really missed that.
• Sims can unlock outfit choices and share them with household members when using the “Plan Outfit” interaction on the Dresser.
• Players may now use Create a Style on Ceilings or add and delete them when in Build Mode. I’m sure many of you’ll love this, although I think it’s just okay.
• Players may now manipulate the roof pitch for individual roof sections when in Build Mode. FINALLY!
• Sculptures can be found in a new Sculpture sorting category when in Buy Mode.
• Players may now use the Tattoo feature to customize Sims when in Create a Sim.
• Players may now select the Fiancé, Girlfriend, and Boyfriend relationship settings when in Create a Sim.
• Certain Adventures and Opportunities will properly display in the Opportunities Panel when traveling between worlds. This is helpful. For example, I always forget when my Sims should learn the martial arts to get a raise, now I see this all the time, so it works as a reminder.
• The Opportunity interface has been improved to clearly outline the fiction, gameplay objectives, rewards, and Opportunity location for all Opportunities and Adventures. This is really helpful, I’ve already seen the change.

And the not so nice change?

• This game update enables dynamic ad serving capabilities in The Sims 3. However, there are no immediate plans to activate any content of this kind. The Sims 3 EULA has further details. See http://www.ea.com/1/product-eulas.

If there will be ads in the game, I hope they will be decent. I don’t mind ads as long as they’re in form of new objects — like Renault Twizy or clothes from H&M or furniture from IKEA. I mean, these were objects people actually paid for and what they paid for was in fact advertisment. Yes, it’s super crazy when you think about it. We play the game and pay money for objects that is actually advertisement. But like I said, I don’t mind as long as it’s decent. H&M and IKEA objects were. Let’s hope it won’t be too different.

Few days ago, I was in a terrible mood. It wasn’t anything special, buy you know these days–something starts bugging you and when a few more things pile up, you’re simply annoyed. I think the last thing that made me angry that day was the limited edition of The Sims 3 Ambitions I’ve heard of at EA Games Singapore facebook fanpage (I know it’s silly to be angry for such things, but like I said, there was more than this that day…). It said: only 800 copies! And I was like: oh no, poor me, I’m never going to get it.

If there were two stickers, I probably wouldn’t mind, but the Commemorative Edition includes a 48-page hardback book about The Sims including special interviews, pictures and a few bonuses such as wall poster, sketch book, ‘Build your own Plumbob’ and SimPoints for TS3 Store. If there are two things in this world I truly love, then it must be the Sims games and books in general. A book about the Sims? You must be kidding me, that’s something I can’t miss!

Well, I wasn’t feeling good enough to make a full research on where this edition will be released since I thought it would be released only in Singapore, but thanks to Julie I took a better look today and found out it will be in fact released in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Singapore. So far we know it won’t be available in Russia and probably not even in the USA. I feel a bit sorry for Americans — why is this edition not available in the country where The Sims was born? No idea, ask EA Games.

Anyways, I canceled my pre-ordered copy of Ambitions from Amazon UK immediately and made a research. I ended up with Game.co.uk. Here’s the good news: Commemorative Edition available and for the same price as the regular edition. Yay! Doble score! And what’s more they have a lot cheaper shipping to my country than Amazon has and it’s even faster (about £10 and 3-14 days from Amazon UK, £3 and 3-5 days from Game.co.uk).

Okay, now I’m jumping around the house with happiness. I actually saved about £6, so I bought one Retail Card with 1,000 SimPoints. I know, I’m a nerd. I need to get a life, hahaha.

I think I still need to do some more research. I’m curious about one or two things, maybe you know more than I do: is there going to be a new ‘hood? Are there any new ghost buildings?

Anyways, I pre-ordered the Prima Game Guide, too, because when I got World Adventures last Christmas, I was starting to feel confused with so many options. Of course, it’s a lot of fun exploring everything, but sometimes you just want to know this and that right now… so I hope the guide will clear my questions.

I also wanted to order two SimPoint Retail Cards, but unfortunatelly, I don’t have that much money right now. I hoped the shipping from United Kingdom would be lower, but Amazon UK keeps the shipping always pretty high (and it’s not that far to Slovakia, you know, I usually get lower shipping rates from other services…). My order should arrive sometimes between July 10th to 21st, I’m crossing my fingers it will be here after June 14th since my exams (if everything goes right) should finally be over by that time.

It’s a paradox that I don’t like the Sims parody for a movie that happens to be my favorite. I mean, I liked the SATC series a lot, the first movie was okay and I haven’t seen the new one, but you get the point. This parody is a little lame. Nothing beats the Twilight, Star Trek or Iron Man parodies, right? They were really funny! My opinion? People doing these parodies are geeks and they should stay true to sci-fi movies etc. Too much romance doesn’t do them good.

Thank you guys for reminding me I had to update the no-mosaic hack to make the objects in TS3 HELS work properly. The aquarium, lights and bubble bath work now as they should. In fact, I didn’t even know that the wall lights had some sort of hi-fi-looking backlight. Oh. For some reason, I wish there was no such thing (without it, the light are so much more versatile), but I guess it’s okay for the house I built — it has a wired hi-fi (I upgraded the hi-fi station) and it’s very modern. Anyway, thanks again and take a look at the nicely working stuff.

There it is, my copy of The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff has arrived this Monday and I’m finally reviewing it for you. It has really seemed like there would be a few problems with it, but everything has cleared up eventually. But let’s start from the beginning.

I was very surprised to find out that I couldn’t choose the language while installing the game. For some reason, the installer chose Czech language for me as a default (I wouldn’t mind, because I understand it) but the biggest surprise was to find the icon on my desktop to be in the Czech language, too. I was so damn scared the game wouldn’t be in English. After running it, it went back ‘to normal’ and everything is English. Phew!

I suppose the language was based on my IP address. I’m letting you know just in case you bought it from somewhere else (like I did from the USA) and suddenly the language was differend. Now let’s move on to the stuff pack as such.

So, the theme is stuff for geeks, modern furniture and slightly industrial look. I like to have all kinds of furniture in my game, because all my Sims are different and I furnish their houses on the basis of what they are like. Having a few geeks keen on playing video games and watching TV all day, this stuff pack makes the perfect furniture for them.

I haven’t really counted how many new objects are in the game, but all in all there are new objects to fully furnish a bedroom, living room, bathroom, study room with hobby objects, plus new deco objects. It’s a bit shame they didn’t include anything for the kitchen. They’re all very modern and some of them have LED lighting. It can’t be removed or recolored, which is a pity, too, but I don’t seem to mind very much. All lights in the game are set to light blue as well, which is a little annoying but you can always change the color of lighting in the game, so in the end it’s not that bad.

I’ve decided to re-decorate on of the original lots from Sunset Valley. I think Maxis tried to build the lot in modern style, but they completely failed at furnishing it. Here comes my attempt at making it nicer. (Although I’m not really done with the landscaping.)

Here’s the living room. The new objects are the sofa, living chair, video game console, coffee table, TV, dresser, stairs, painting (right behind the stairs) and the pile of CDs on the coffee table. Looks neat, huh?

Here’s the new hi-fi station and some sort of wall decoration. Looks like pixels, but bigger. The CD shelf is custom content, it’s not included. You can also see the new aquarium. Unfortunatelly, this object doesn’t work — there should be fish in there, but they don’t appear for some reason. They really could make it work…

The living chair, the ceiling light and the phone on the kitchen counter are new, too.

I especially wanted to highlight the new double-door. Isn’t it amazing? I love it!

Here’s the new floor lamp. It looks very nice with the light blue lighting, but it’s the only lamp I kept the default color of light.

I love the new bookcases. They’re just amazing.

The new technologies will make your Sims fit.

The bathroom is my favorite room in the house. Well, not really, but it’s really close to it. The bathtub is amazing. It reminds me of the one we used to have in The Sims 1. It has three slots for decor objects, plus a plastic duck and bubble bath can be placed on it. Unfortunatelly, it’s not working properly — there are no bubbles when taking a bubble bath. I really hate this fact.

The lights and the sink are new. I wish there was a new mirror, but it’s from the base game.

I really like the new shower, because unlike the other one it’s not round and the toilet is new as well.

In the bedrom, you can see the new bed, end tables, alarm clock and dresser.

There’s also an electronic guitar. Another great object, because I really missed one. I like the acoustic guitar, but I like diversity, too.

And now I thought of the fact that I totally forgot to take some pictures from Create a Sim. Oh snap! Maybe next time, guys. But I remember there were a few nice bob hairstyles for females and some very useful hairs for guys, too. The clothes look quite sci-fi, but I think they’re still wearable.

All in all, the new stuff pack is pretty fine. I’m a little annoyed that the aquarium and the bath don’t work as they should. They really could test the objects better, it’s not like there are 300 of them, right? Right. Otherwise, I like pretty much everything. If you like geek and modern stuff, you’re going to like this new stuff pack and I can only recommend it.

I was just playing The Sims 3 yesterday and started thinking about where has the good ol’ Collection Folders gone. Well, they didn’t excatly go anywhere since they’ve never been introduced in TS3, right? But there we go, Mackat has made her own way and created an online petition that everyone can sign. Easy like that. Now I’m crossing my fingers for EA Games to see this and take this seriously.

I found this set at the official Czech Store (just switch the language at the bottom of the official store site or follow this link) and I had to instantly download and install it! The set includes the new Renault Z.E. car which looks totally fun and a set of new eco-objects. Everything is for free.

I wasn’t able to find this set at the official US site, I wonder if it’s just a local product placement advertisement. Perhaps it is. You can download the set if you’re logged in via this page. Just a few behind the scenes from the new video I posted yesterday. I love how everyone just uses ‘nooboo’ instead of ‘baby’ (I mean, it’s obvious) so you can always figure out at least one word from every Simlish song.

It’s been a while since EA Games has made such a sentimental video. I love it, though! The time machine looks exciting, I’ve heard that sometimes your Sims might return with relatives from the future or past.

I know I’m lame because I haven’t seen Iron Man but it seems like I’ll have to do some catching up because this parody is really awesome. Oh and once again, I love the new Servos!

I couldn’t leave out the picutures although they all can be seen at the official site with more information about the medical career, spy and fireman career. I think I’m starting to like Ambitions more and more. BTW notice the haircut of the doctor. It seems to be new and it looks really neat!

The new renders look pretty cool. They also remind me that the game will be released in only 45 days! And that reminds me I should start preparing for my final exams. The plan is like this: pre-order the game and get it by June 15th and make all exams so I can play it.

Also, new True Blood series will be out on June 9th so I can’t take any risk! The sooner I’ll pass the exams, the better for me. Something tells me this will be a long summer with endless nights taking care of my Sims. Yay!

Oh and the Servo looks really great. At first I thought I didn’t like it, because the original Servos in TS2 were so damn good (TS1 Servo was also good, but a bit more simple). But I really love it now. Look at his eyes! They look so freaking emotional and touching.

I thought that they should come up with something like Would you like to save this design? option, otherwise it won’t be working that well. If I had a tattoo artist, I sure would like to play around with all kinds of possibilies offered. So I could make my own tattoo design, style the Sim and then not save his new “enhancement”. Do you know what I mean?

As much as I don’t want to spread panic between Simmers, I thought this information might be useful for others. You may want to consider the SimPoint cards (you can buy them at BestBuy, Amazon.co.uk or Play.com–it also never hurts to check out eBay), since you don’t need to share your credit card information with EA Games this way.

It looks really neat! I think I even like it better than the one for World Adventures. And yay for Servos! Well, at least I hope it’s a Servo.

Several of the active jobs have been designed to allow your Sim to still progress while you’re busy with a different Sim elsewhere. For example, a Private Investigator can do low level police work or stakeouts while he isn’t working on an active case. The Firefighter is not always fighting fires so there are times where you can let him hang out and socialize at the Fire Station or work out when you aren’t controlling him. Both the Stylist and Architectural Design jobs will take you into a mode that will pause the game, but if you don’t want to do that you can still have your Sim research their field on the drafting table. Every career has responsibilities and its own active jobs. Each active job will require your full attention, but there are still options that allow your Sim to progress and level up while not controlling them. The most efficient progression will be with you controlling them but the balance is up to you. Similar to how World Adventures worked, it will be a challenge to control more than one Sim with multiple active jobs but we’ve offered many other avenues to help make it easier, and it can be done.

Alright, I’m excited and slightly disappointed at the same time. No retail shops like in OFB. Which means no bakeries etc. Read this. Shame. BUT the good news is really exciting: the new careers will allow the players to modify the town. Like an architect / designer can create new buildings or design rooms for other families. Stylists can make Sims in the ‘hood look better or worse, depending on what you want.

So if you’re not expecting everything we had in OFB, I think you’ll be excited. Well, I’ve never really wanted to see my Sims at work, but these jobs look pretty cool. I like that the careers have a big inpact on the ‘hood. What I really do want to try is to have an inventor, detective and a stylist.

Oh yes, my dear readrers, new expansion pack is coming out… well, we don’t know just yet, but most likely in three months. I’m so excied! But very intrigued at the same time, because I’m still not sure what to expect.

There are some hints that there might be ice-sculpturing, Servos, some form of Ghost Busters and… firemen? I thought we already had them. *shrugs* But what I really dream of is the same kind of business we could have in TS2. Or is that too much I’m asking for?

Let’s hope I won’t regret this. Well, I’m dying to know whether all Sims that lost their traits will have new ones. I doubt it, though… we’ll see.

But the great news is that at least Amazon UK sells the game. The funny thing about it? It’s even cheaper than in the USA. Not much, but a little.

So I was thinking I might start buying new expansion packs and stuff packs from Amazon UK. I’ve just never stumbled upon this little thing: does it matter what language/version of the game I buy? I mean, will the US copies of TS3 and TS3 World Adventures I already bought be compatible with the British version of TS3 Design and Hi-Tech Stuff (that’s how the new SP is called in the UK)? I suppose yes, but if you know something more, please, let me know in the comments.

Amazon UK also sells the retail cards for The Sims 3 Store. I know the stuff in the store is terribly expensive, but oh shoot, some of the sets are so nice!

Anyways, I need to work on my budget, I’m not buying everything just yet. But after all, there’s a lot of time for everything and I plan to buy the new stuff pack with next expansion pack anyway. I suppose it should be out in July or so, hopefully after my exams.

I’m a little happy that there’s something free finally, like the two paintings of which I love the Gustav Klimt-ish one.

Fanciful fashion? You must be joking me, EA Games, right? Okay, okay, I like the hairs and I love the high-waist skirt, but I wish it was not an outfit, but a separate part. *sigh* Apart from that, nothing either fanciful or fashionable.

Year of the Tiger is super-cute, for that price it’s a must-have. Luckily, I have a few SimPoints, so I’m definitely going to spend some now.

So anyways, I’ve been thinking about custom content for TS3. As funny as it seems, I still feel very new to it because just like I said I don’t have too much time to download and read news about custom content. But today I got a lot of nice clutter, body shop stuff and some build mode essentials. With some little custom content the game starts making so much sense to me.

One of the things I truly love about CC for TS3 is that you don’t really need any recolors for the new meshes to make them show up. That’s so great! My game used to be cluttered with so many recolors I didn’t like, now I can just chose my own pattern on the go. And it makes the objects much more pretty, because they look more Maxis-like. No way-too realistic textures. I love that.

The drags: It’s such shame that you can’t delete anything from the game. Everything must be made manually. I also don’t like that some creators make their sets in .sims3pack files. I decided to donate to Around the Sims 3 today to finally get an easier access to her files (you can download all sets in one package), but also because Sandy has been doing a wonderful job all these years and I hadn’t had PayPal until recently so it was about the time to say thankyou even this way. But like I said above, all her files are in .sims3pack.

Luckily Delphy made this cool extractor that converts everything to .package file. It’s so useful! But still I wish creators didn’t use that format. It’s such a drag!

In the next few days, I’ll keep on de-cluttering my bookmarks with some older finds for TS2 so these will come first and then I’ll start looking for something fresher. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! :love:

Oh imagine that now you can have such geeks like Sheldon and Leonard from The Big Bang theory in your game.

Oh and: Sims 3 Sells 4.5 Million Units while 3.2 million units were illegally downloaded.

Now I only have The Sims 3 and also TS3 World Adventures, and I’m starting to feel the same. Sims can now gain new skills and it takes much more time, but every skill has also different challenges (like when you write you can be a best-selling author after publishing 50 novels–I made that up, but there’s something similar). Sims can collect stuff, which is really awesome, but one thing that intrigues me the most is that you always get the best results if you combine a few types of skills/career together.

The problem? It’s so specific with so many options that I can barely try everything in the game.

For example, I’d love to have a Sim that would be a great gardener and would produce his own nectar. Then I’d love to have a Sim, who could cook and grow his own veggies and/or fish, so he could make more types of recipes. Then there are the artsy Sims who might be great at painting/photographing, and others good at athletics/martial arts… the list goes on and on. Of course, they need to have friends, family, career…

At one point, I’m so happy that there are all those options. I remember The Sims 1 in all its simplicity and I loved it so much. When I tried it the last time, I found it boring. So I uninstalled the game and decided to keep the memories which remain absolutely amazing (and so nostalgic at the same time). On the other hand, sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with so many options. Do you know what I mean? Once you can do so much, it brings you to the point where you want to make the most out of the perfection.

So what do you think: the more options the better, or the worse?

So, why is The Sims 3 animal friendly? Because Sims can choose to have a vegetarian-oriented lifestyle. Wow.

The animal-rights group praises The Sims 3 for its option to let players “choose a vegetarian lifestyle,” making Sims, “like their real-life counterparts, live longer, age more slowly, and feast on cruelty-free delights-from tofu dogs to ratatouille.”

For the first time in my Sims experience, I truly love the freedom of TS3 neighborhoods since there are no loading screens whatsoever. You can go basically anywhere by foot or by bicycle. I love this! No loading screens! I’m still amazed by this simple fact.

Another thing I truly love is the nature in Shang Simla. It’s really epic, picture-perfect. I took a few snaps so you can take a look (and make sure to enlarge them by clicking on them). Exploring catacombs is amazing and I love that you actually have some quests to do. This gives the player a whole new experience.

I often found previous vacation EPs quite boring from the point of doing something in the game. You could visit places, swim in the sea (although I miss this a little), search for treasures… it was fun, but soon I realized there’s nothing more to do.

In World Adventures, you can collect relics, play with you camera and take some great pictures, study martial arts, there are quite a lot of shops with exclusive objects you won’t find anywhere else. And producing wines is so much fun!

I still haven’t been to El Simhara (I need to prepare for exams again) but I totally love Shang Simla. Champs les Sims is okayish, I think I only like producing nectar about it. But I’m looking forward to having a Sim with a huge wine collection, that seems so cool to me.

So far, that’s all I can say briefly, I hope to post more pictures, but I’m not sure when since my exams are here in less than two weeks. But I’ll be posting new stuff, don’t worry.

Fireworks look absolutely fantastic. Just make sure you set it outside and not in your living room, or you might set your Sims on fire.
